Amanda Eriksson Skogs fund will be used to investigate Histatins, Saliva peptides with important functions for our innate immune system. Histatins, a family of saliva peptides that act as a first line of defence of our innate immune system and possess antimicrobial properties. Of specific interest is Histatin 1, Histatin 3, and Histatin 5. The aim is to achieve a molecular understanding of the underlying physics by utilizing the toolbox we have developed for more than a decade for Hst5, combining computer simulations and experiments. Amount: 130 000 SEK.

Henrik Henrik Vinther Sørensen fund will be used to A Structural Investigation of an Intrinsically Disordered Region of Tumour Suppressor Protein p53. Which is a theoretical and experimental investigation into one of the IDRs of p53. Henrik Vinther Sørensenhas together with Marie Skepö and Michael Bakker has already submitted a paper with the title Exploring the Role of Globular Domain Locations on an Intrinsically Disordered Region of p53: A Molecular Dynamics Investigation.
